For me the inspiration is always thinking of a fabric in specific places that I've seen in my life. I don't know why I link a vase to fabric, but it came quite naturally. The fabric that inspired this vase was a paisley fabric curtain that I saw in the Ziegfield Follies Theater in New York during the early 80's. I stayed all night staring at this woven fabric that has been in printed in my head since. The allover of flowers on the back is from the memory of an early painting of Andy Warhol that in a way shocked and inspired me. He did an all over of little daisies so I thought that if he could do that, I could express myself the way I wanted. xx, KUKY
