This icon is a mix of many things: rock'n roll, gypsy, even a bit of Amy Winehouse. There are a lot of symbols: erotism, fashion, beauty and damnation. She expresses the sacred and profain but she has the courtesy to hide her hangover behind her sunglasses. I tried many times to paint her eyes but they would never come out, I thought in the end I would make two holes in the canvas. Then I painted her with closed eyes, this still didn't work. I left her for a few day and it came to me when I looked at her through my own sunglasses and realised she needed them so badly. Through her sunglasses she can filter the cruelty of life and she becomes Rock'n Roll despite herself. xx, KUKY
